Testamonies from Zimbabwe

September 2004

What a blessing! What a provision! For the last two years it seemed that heaven had forgotten about us. Everything seemed to be going on a slippery slope. The economy situation, the drought, the hunger and death through this pandemic HIV and AIDS disease is worsening. However, we are thankful to you for remembering us in times of trouble. You are truly preaching the full gospel. Once again, I thank you because you even saved our family.

-The Zveke Family.

I was glad that at a time when we were facing hunger and starvation, food was provided for by friends that do not even know us. Oh what a timely provision. My four children and I have received of the food. We thank you KLM International for looking beyond our faults and saw our need. God bless you.

-The Chimusoro Family.

I am a garden-boy and I cannot afford to buy things like spaghetti and powdered milk. I thank God for Pastor Murefu and his friend Brother Kenny Linhart. I helped to pack the food in smaller containers so that many people would get a share of each of the food sent. It took us a long time to complete packing but it was worth it. I know God loves us but I have never seen everybody being blessed with so many groceries at the same time. I did not know how to cook the spaghetti but then Amai Murefu taught us how. Mwari vakana (God is good). Thank you so much KLM International. Please keep on obeying what God tells you to.

-Elliot Msimanga Songo

As a family we had decided to part ways for we did not like to see each die of poverty, disease and hunger. Thank you for saving our marriage and family. The food you sent has brought us together and my unbelieving husband has been won to the Lord because of the noble deed.

-Nyasha Muza

I am grateful, may God be blessed for what you have done for us. May you be blessed by God, for we have been made full, we were in hunger. May you keep the food coming, please do not forget us, we are in good health as we speak because of the food you sent. I am 77 years old and in the rural areas were I live, we have to walk long distances to go and buy food, if the money is available anyway. I am unemployed and do not get any pensions. My source of income is the children I have who work in Harare. Now I am the one who is giving them food from America. Mwari vakukomborerei zvikuru (may God bless you) Ini ndinotenda nechikafu chamakatumidzira (I thank you for the food you sent).

-Ambuya Mhako

KLM, I am so grateful for all the stuff you sent to us. There's a song that says," It's not in vain, what you do for Jesus Christ. Do all you can for Him, He will reward you in the end." What you did for my people was what I call a pure act of love. I mean, you don't know my family that well, but still you entrusted us with the task of giving so much food to so many people. My parents have never had a situation in which they were responsible for giving out more than 40 tons of food to people. As the people were receiving the food, I could hear the voice of God saying, "be still and know..." my eyes filled with tears each time I stopped to look at those smiles. The people were getting weary because the ceremony of giving out the food took many hours but everyone was so happy to have received so much food free of charge. My Dad always jokes that there is no free lunch these days, but that day, there sure was one. The buckets and the blankets were not enough for everyone but no one was complaining if they did not get any. Please extend my thanks to Feed the Hungry. Where would we be without their love? Someone once said that love is more easily demonstrated than defined. Now, may God richly bless you Brother Kenney and everyone at KLM International.

-Rejoice Murefu

We were in debt and my wife was expecting a baby. Our two children were always wondering what we would eat because they knew there was nothing else left in the house for us to eat. Now with the food you sent, our children are happy to get up and have some cereals for breakfast. The powdered milk, the macaroni, the rice and everything else you sent have been quite a blessing. I want to also thank Feed the Hungry as well. What you do for Jesus Christ is not in vain. Thank you so much.

-Tony and Glen Shava (and Brandon and Sean)

When my friend told me about the food coming to Zimbabwe, I thought she was just joking with me, why would anyone send food to some people he doesn't know? But when I came to her church when hundreds and hundreds of people were getting food, I knew this was no joke. Ever since my father died 2 years ago, things haven't been working out in our family. The fact that you Listened to God and sent this food is what I am grateful for. If only you were there to see how happy everybody was. Bro Kenney, thank you so much. Zimbabwe is in hunger. No matter how much they try to deny the fact, people are dying of starvation here in Zimbabwe. But it's people like you who bring hope to us.

-Karen Manyati

Thank you-Tinotenda-Siyabonga. Mwari vakuitirei zvakanaka (May God do good things to you). I am ever grateful for all this food, which you have given us. I am so happy I can't contain myself. Everyone is having financial problems including myself but this food has given us hope and we are so happy. Oh thank you very much, if only you could read the happiness you have stored in our hearts. We can't wait to see you during your crusade here Brother Kenney, you are such a blessing to Zimbabwe.

-Mrs. James and family

There is a God in heaven! He will neither leave us nor forsake us. Taking care of my children has been made easier, all the good things which you have done for us will bring back some results in your life Brother Kenney. You are a rare gift to us people in Zimbabwe. Maybe out there they were telling you that things were ok here in Zimbabwe, but you still allowed God to use you. Do not be weary in serving Him.

-Mrs. Mandebvu and Family
