Dear Friends and Partners,

Liberia, which is in Western Africa, is a nation founded by freed American slaves. It is one of Africa's oldest established republics. It's 3.5 million people have been subjected to 15 years of cruel war. More than 200,000 people were killed in Liberia's civil war and over 200,000 Liberian refugees are in surrounding countries. The uncertain security situation has hindered their ability to return. Many of those who fled were leaders and businessmen. They left taking with them their expertise and finances. The conflict has left the country in economic ruin and overrun with weapons.

The UN is working in conjunction with a transitional government with the aim of holding free election in October this year. Current politics are brining to the surface many unresolved issues and violent eruptions are frequent. With an average life expectancy of only 41 years, many of the new generation leaders have only experienced war and corruption. Many have never experienced peace in their adult lifetime.

Due to the ravages of war and a recent outbreak of locusts, which devastated much of Western Africa, famine has complicated life even further. The people of Liberia are hungry and tired. Peace seems to evade them. For many of them, it's as if God has forgotten their country or doesn't care about their plight.

God does care and so do we. We realize that God is able to heal these precious people as well as heal their land. We are heading to Liberia in just a few weeks. Already many containers of food have arrived in the capitol of Monrovia. This food will be distributed after the mass crusade and leadership conference. We are expecting nearly a thousand Pastors and leaders to be encouraged during the meetings specifically designed for them. They will see thousands of miracles and thousands of men and women lay down their arms and surrender their lives to Jesus Christ during the regional crusade. These very pastors will then minister one on one for the next few weeks as the new converts come to their local churches to receive their personal food packs.

During these events Liberia will be changed. Lives will be restored and bodies will be healed. Ministries will be reestablished and churches will be birthed. Most importantly many thousands will come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Between the relief effort and the crusade, 80% of the finances have already been raised and invested. However, we still need your help. With the crusade only three weeks away we have yet to raise an additional $25,000, which has been committed to the local Pastors and churches. Maybe all you can do is commit your time and your prayers, that's wonderful. But, if you can send a designated gift to help us shake the nation of Liberia for Jesus Christ, it will make a difference!

Remember, together we can!

Your missionary evangelists,

Kenney & Neja Linhart
