January 2007Dear Friends and Partners,Our recent meetings in West Africa were exceptional! We ministered to thousands of people during our stay there. Every night the message was fresh from heaven. Every night people made the choice to receive Jesus as Lord. And every night God responded by pouring out His healing power and love. Deaf ears were opened, blind eyes received sight, and God was glorified! If I had to choose one continent on which to minister for the rest of my life, it would no doubt be Africa. I love the people, the sites, the sounds, and the smells. Thank God I don't have to make this choice, but if I had to, it would be an easy one for me. Africa contains nearly 900 million people living in 61 nations. There are so many different languages and cultures - to experience them all would take a lifetime. I have to say it, I love Africa! We will be returning to West Africa in February to hold a mass, city-wide crusade in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. During our last trip, we met with the denominational leaders, as well as the heads of the government. Both the government and Christian leaders pledged their support and cooperation. The government's support is crucial because the city is 55% Muslim, 35% indigenous beliefs (ancestral worship, voodoo and witchcraft), and only 10% Christian (9% Catholic and 1% Protestant). Please keep this event in prayer. This holiday season, please be sure to give faithfully to the work to which God has called us. Some of you may even decide to double your monthly giving for December. The double will go a long way. Some may decide to plant larger year-end gifts. We have included two envelopes for you. Please reflect on your holiday giving. Be faithful by sending in your monthly support right away and near Christmas send an additional gift to help us start 2007 off right. This spring we will reach a milestone in KLM International's history. Sometime between February and March we will see the one millionth person come to salvation through our outreaches and crusades. WOW! One million souls! If all of heaven rejoices over just one soul, what a privilege and an honor it is to be a part of bringing so many to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Although this will be a major cause for celebration, we can't stop here. Our intentions are not to quit or take a break, but to increase. We are now striving to win ONE MILLION SOULS every year through KLM International's outreaches, crusades, and leadership training events. Now we are going to challenge you to help us reach the goal. Remember, our primary purpose in ministry is to win souls. Secondarily, we are to equip the pastors and leaders to disciple the new converts. Thirdly, we are to help the pastors here in the United States by equipping the body to do the work of the ministry. To accomplish our first priority, we are striving to hold TEN CITY-WIDE, MASS CRUSADES per year. Each crusade should reap a harvest of 70,000 to 150,000 souls and bring to each city a momentum that will thrust the churches there into greater productivity. We will also be training thousands of pastors and emerging leaders to disciple the new converts in each one of these outreaches. Think of it! Ten mass soul winning events a year. Consider ONE MILLION SOULS per year. We have the message! God provides the miracles! Invitations from Muslim and Hindu nations are pouring in! We need the partners! That's where you come in. There have been many people who have asked to be removed from our mailing list when I talk like this. To be honest with you, I'm not really concerned about that anymore. I'm not asking you to partner with us so I can drive a nicer car or live in a bigger house. I already drive a nice car and our house is sufficient. If you're not already a partner, I am asking you to become part of the KLM International family so that together we can win souls! This gospel must be preached! The gospel is the power of God for salvation! These crusades are not simply big Christian celebrations. They are bringing life and momentum to regions where Christianity is being suppressed. The other day, one of my best friends asked if I thought mass crusades were outdated. I thought to myself, "Is the local church outdated? Is the office of a pastor outdated?" Then I realized he was looking at the crusades through the eyes of American culture. In the United States, many of these events are large Christian gatherings where many non-believers get born again. So from his perspective, his question is valid. But we aren't holding these events in the United States. We go into regions like Burkina Faso, where the Evangelical Christians make up less than 1% of the population. In areas like this, many pastors continue their work in fear. As in Pakistan, oppression and persecution await anyone who clings to the cross. When overseas, not only are non-believers born again, but these crusades energize the leadership! They embolden the body! The message that was whispered is now proclaimed publicly, and in many cases for the first time. As a result of these events, hundreds of new churches are started and thousands join the existing local church. The crusades and leadership trainings aren't just a celebration or Christian gathering. They are life-giving, miracle-filled, history-making events! The truth is this: our major focus of ministry is in the nations of the world. You need us just as much as we desire and need you. We all have been given the command to go into all the worldwe all have been commissioned by the Lord Jesus Christ to make disciples of all nationswe all have been given the ministry of reconciliation. By partnering with us, you are stepping into your destiny and call as we go to the nations through your giving. Let us help you fulfill the Great Commission.
